Company profile |
The Exploratorium is typically perceived as a science museum. In reality it is a place that experiments with new practices for discovering the world; a museum filled with interactive science and art exhibits, a national center for teacher development; an award-winning Web site of new teaching resources; and a growing global network of partner museums. Fundamentally, it is a laboratory for the research and development of innovations in exhibits, Web publishing, and programs, linked to a worldwide dissemination network.
Exhibit Services' mission is to share the Exploratorium with the rest of the world through master planning, exhibit fabrication, exhibit network programs, consulting and professional development services in education, floor facilitation and operations. Since 1985, Exhibit Services has provided exhibits and professional services to over 1200 institutions worldwide.
We are pleased to offer our newest program "Tinkering", which is based on the work of the Exploratorium's "The Tinkering Studio Experiments with art, science, technology and delightful ideas."
The Tinkering Studio is an immersive, active, creative place at the Exploratorium where museum visitors can slow down, become deeply engaged in an investigation of scientific phenomena, and make something a piece of a collaborative chain reaction, for example that represents their ideas and aesthetic.
The Tinkering program combines "the right kinds of activities, with the right kind of materials, in the right kind of space" to foster open inquiry and curious exploration. To learn more about The Tinkering Studio, please go to this link http://tinkering.exploratorium.edu/
If you would like to know more about how you can bring Tinkering to your institution, please contact Exhibit Services. |
